Exhibitor profile

Promoting Rail Market Growth for Sustainable Mobility

UNIFE’s mission is to enhance the global competitiveness of the European rail supply industry and promote the development of rail as the preferred mode of transportation in Europe and globally.

UNIFE – the Association of the European Rail Supply Industry – represents Europe’s leading rail supply companies active in the design, manufacture, maintenance and refurbishment of rail transport systems, subsystems and related equipment. Membership also extends to Associate Members, mostly composed of national railway industry associations. UNIFE Members have an 84% market share in Europe and supply more than 46% of the worldwide production of rail equipment and services.

UNIFE’s role is to represent its Members’ interests at the level of both European and international institutions and to proactively develop an environment in which UNIFE members can provide competitive railway systems for increased rail traffic.

The European Rail Supply Industry is a profitable, flexible and high-tech sector, actively contributing to jobs, economic growth and the development of sustainable transport in Europe and beyond. UNIFE, which is one of the supporting bodies of the European Union Agency for Railways (ERA) and the European Rail Research Advisory Council (ERRAC), works on interoperability standards and coordinates EU-funded research projects that work towards the technical harmonisation of railway systems.

UNIFE Priorities to achieve the mission:
  • Promoting European policies favourable to rail
  • Shaping an interoperable and efficient European railway system
  • Ensuring European rail supply industry leadership through advanced research, innovation and quality
  • Providing UNIFE Members with strategic and operational knowledge
