Product description

A pantograph is an apparatus mounted on the roof of an electric train to collect power through contact with an overhead wire. The pantograph is spring-loaded and pushes a contact shoe up against the underside of the contact wire to draw the current needed to run the train.
Design Philosophy of Yichang's Pantographs:
  • High-efficiency current transmission capacity;
  • Reduced current transmission interface damage;
  • Prolonged life-span between the wearing interface surfaces;
  • Optimized dynamics for a range of metro systems;
  • Optimized suspension stiffness;
  • Optimized aerodynamic performance.
Characteristics of Yichang's Pantographs:
  • Simple Structure: the fourth bar and the balance beam both lay inside the lower and upper arms respectively;
  • The fourth bar drives the upper arm through a chain;
  • Steel and stainless steel are used due to the fatigue resistance increase after welding, making the materials ideal for rigid contact lines;
  • Superior shock absorbing action and fast, reliable return to overhead contact.
  • Service life: 30 years (excluding general wear).
