The Swedish National Team of Rail Competence

Sweden has long enjoyed a worldwide reputation for an advanced railway technology.
The Swedish railway industry is well established and recognized in the export market and the companies are continuously developing services, technologies and equipment for the railways of the future with a focus on areas such as environment, energy saving, safety, security and sustainable city development.

SWERIG – Swedish Rail Industry Group – is a group of today 45 leading Swedish companies covering all business areas of the industry. SWERIG is the Swedish National Team of Rail Competence.

SWERIG is an non gouvermental non profit association for networking and promotion of Swedish exports with the major aim to support infrastructure owners, train operators as well as their contractors and sub-suppliers worldwide with competitive products and services.

Sweden has been in the forefront when it comes to restructuring and transforming of the state railways into efficient business-oriented units designed to meet the customer requirements and the competition from other means of transport. That process has contributed to the development of strong market oriented Swedish suppliers.

Some 35 members of SWERIG are exhibiting at InnoTrans 2016, most of them in individual stands and ten of them in the SWERIG joint stand in The International Hall for Railway Technology, Hall 11.2 Stand No. 203.
