All about availabilityEverything we do for you leads to optimised safety, availability, sustainability and efficiency of your rail or rolling stock system. We apply the knowledge, technology and expertise gathered during our century-long history in one of the toughest markets for rail to do so. From the dense, frequently-used infrastructure and extreme quality demands of the tough rail environment of Dutch urban delta, we explore new foreign markets, combining civil and rail engineering with the Dutch approach of co-design and co-creation.
In addition to main lines, we focus on heavy haul and urban mobility, because it is in those areas that our customers have challenges that we can solve for them. Why? Because rail transport is a good option to keep urban areas accessible and to solve challenges faced for heavy haul. And we aim to make rail transport a more attractive, reliable and competitive option. We often share this goal with our customers. In the end, we want to provide a safe, accessible and sustainable world for everyone, now and in the future.
Our general approach is that we first find out your main challenges. We then look into possible solutions for you and service you through our technological solutions for rail systems and electrical systems for rolling stock. Our smart maintenance approach illustrates this.
Customers who want to make their system safer and better available, often find a solution in a smart maintenance approach. It is here where a combination of the POSS® monitoring system, know-how of the operation of assets and big data and artificial intelligence expertise brings many of our customers to a higher level. At home in the Netherlands, we have created a complete control room to keep track of all the track data that comes our way almost every minute. In this data driven environment, we are able to predict a switch failure two weeks in advance. We are happy to assist them by monitoring their track using remote control and data analysis while taking on contractual risks as to the performance of that track. This closely resembles a situation which has long been in use in the aviation industry with remote censoring.
Our home countries are the Netherlands, Italy, Sweden, Denmark and Belgium. From there, we have been taking on large rail construction projects in Morocco, Algeria, Venezuela and Saudi Arabia. In addition, we are exporting our products and services to countries all over the world, including India, China, South-Africa, France and Germany. We are settling in the markets of Australia and the USA, having won its first contracts in smart maintenance services in Melbourne and Perth and in the refurbishment market for trains in the USA.
