WORLD-CLASS RAILWAY SAFETY - Innovative signalling and traffic control solutionsMipro is a pioneer in and a leading supplier of railway systems in Finland and the only Nordic based company that provides rail safety related systems meeting the highest Safety Integrity Level (SIL 4).
Our main products are traffic control and interlocking systems for railway and metro lines, all tailored to each client's specific needs. Our systems operate independently of all specific applications and devices, and will therefore be compatible with other systems the client uses.
According to our leading idea of delivering total solutions, we provide unique lifecycle management services and situation awareness services for our rail and metro solutions.
Our solutions are used to control and supervise more than half of all rail traffic routes in Finland: our interlocking systems control over 2000 km (1250 miles) of track, and our traffic control systems about 3500 km (2188 miles) of track. We have also modernised the interlocking and traffic control systems and communication solutions of Finland's largest marshalling yard in Ilmala. The sixty-hectare area contains a total of 70 km (44 miles) of rail track.
SOLUTIONS FOR COMPLETE PROJECT DELIVERIES
Kokkola-Ylivieska signalling system
Mipro designed, supplied and installed a new signalling system to the Kokkola–Ylivieska railway section on the Finnish west coast. The signalling system is one of the most comprehensive ever built in Finland and covers – in addition to the existing single-track section – the new double-track section constructed. The commissionings took place in the years 2013-2017.
Modernisation of Western Finland's remote control, TAKO
Mipro was selected to modernise Western Finland's remote control system (TAKO) which controls the railway traffic in an area covering approximately a quarter of the Finnish rail network - about 1400 track kilometres (875 miles). Mipro will deliver the Western Finland’s remote control system in eight phases during 2014 to 2018.
Helsinki West Metro signalling system
Mipro delivered the interlocking and ATS systems and the passenger information system for the new West Metro line, the western metro extension of the Helsinki metro. For the new rail line of 14 kilometres, Mipro delivered a centralised system solution based on the existing infrastructure. The new metro line serves over 100,000 passengers a day. The operation on the new line started in autumn 2017.
Helsinki metro signalling system modernisation
In 2016, Mipro was selected to deliver interlocking and ATS systems and passenger information system for the Helsinki metro line as well. The line of 21 kilometres and with 17 stations runs partly in tunnels and partly on the ground. In the Helsinki metro, the line has been divided into several separate interlocking system areas. Furthermore, a new interlocking system will be delivered to a metro depot.
Lääne-Harju signalling system renewal
In 2018, Mipro was selected to renew the signalling system on the Lääne-Harju track section in Estonia. Mipro will deliver a new traffic management system and signalling system for approximately 80 kilometres of track section. Mipro was selected as Eesti Raudtee’s partner following an international tender process conducted in 2017. The project is scheduled to be finalized by the end of 2021.
Modernisation of Eastern Finland's marshalling yards
In 2018, Mipro was selected as the supplier of the Ylivieska marshalling yard signalling system renewal. Mipro will deliver for the fourteen track marshalling yard a SIL4-level interlocking system that complies with the current regulations and requirements.
In 2018, Mipro was selected as the supplier of the Kotka marshalling yard signalling system renewal. Mipro will deliver a new interlocking system and safety equipment from control locations up to track equipment for the Kotka operating points Hovinsaari, Tavara, Asemaand Satama.
These examples of major rail and metro traffic projects Mipro has won through highly competitive international tenders.
