LED information system

The outer information LED panels – vehicle direction indicators  are produced in three versions – front, side, rear -  in various sizes and with outstanding side readability made possible by using flat LED diodes. They are based on high-illumination LED diodes  (max. is up to 3 000 mCd/point with flat diodes or up to 10 000 mCd/point with lens diodes) and on a low-input power technology with extended lifespan with pre-convertors which manage the voltage of the LED diodes – for example the consumption of a side tableau can be mere 20 W! The panels naturally contain precise illumination regulation according to the surrounding light, as well as rotating and sliding texts. The long lifespan is made possible by the work regime of the diodes which is deep below the maximum voltage. Outer vehicle  LED panels are produced in three basic series:We were the first in the Czech Republic to integrate the technology of displaying texts with the help of dynamic fonts in our outer vehicle LED panels. The LED panel itself chooses the biggest possible font to ensure readability of the text from the longest possible distance. It is possible to send texts – stop names according to the definition from the CIS (Central information system) – directly into the panel and the panel itself  adjusts the text and optimizes the size of the text as well as the number of lines (see the attached demonstration video of slowed-down calculations – in reality this happens in a few microseconds). Thus it is not necessary to prepare special databases and to maintain these databases. Defining the ways they are displayed is enough!
This is made possible by an efficient control unit in the outer LED panel. The control unit can perform up to 1 billion operations in a second and it has 8 MBytes Flash and 2 MBytes RAM and all this for competitive prices. The changing  frequency of the display of the LED panel is about 300 Hz.

LCD information panels

Inner vehicle display panels (CityScreen) for passengers based on industrial LCD displays are designed for public transportation vehicles (both municipal public transportation and regional public transportation) to serve as an information system for passengers.  The LCD displays are produced using the all in-one-system, i.e. the inner vehicle LCD includes a control PC computer, an LCD display, power supply units and if requested also a GSM/UMTS modem for remote updates and surveillance.
They are produced in the following versions:A widescreen LCD display is used as a display panel. This display can have resolution with a minimum side ratio of 5:4 (resolution 1280 x 1024), however different side ratios are also possible: 16:9 (resolution e.g . . . 1366 × 768, 1680 × 1050, 1920 × 1080), 16:10 (resolution 1440 x 900) and higher side ratios (resolution e.g. 1920 x 502 points).
Inner LCD panels can be controlled using all busbar types (Ethernet, RS 485, IBIS or our fast IBIS definition).  In the solutions supplied by our company, we prefer communication busbar with a superordinate unit of the Ethernet type (see the article „New vehicle conception“). The vehicle control unit is the superordinate unit.

Ethernet communication units

At the moment we offer 2 basic types of ECU communication units – five-port and eight-port. They can perform other functions as well and are designed primarily for municipal and regional public transportation. They can be controlled by a processor and perform some other support functions such as controlling the PoE interface (Power over Ethernet) or TPoE (TPoE – target power over Ethernet – targeted powering on of units in an Ethernet network defined by our company), serial lines and one-bit outputs/inputs can be connected to these  communication units.
Production of the four-port version of the switch has been discontinued and replaced by a compatible version ECU 05x.
ECU-0x communication units can perform 3 basic functions (based on the fitting of the printed wiring):
  1. Simple unmanaged Ethernet switch – 5 or 8 ports.
  2. Can function as a managed Ethernet switch of PoE and TpoE using a processor.
  3. Ethernet switch in the IJN role (integrated power supply unit) can also be used to manage vehicle power supply and can also be equipped with  e.g. a GSM/GPRS/UMTS modem or some other module.
Basic features of communication units as Ethernet busbar switches include:
  • Unblocked switch architecture distributes and filters packets at full cable speed to ensure maximum throughput.
  • Automatic recognition of a wrong cable.
  • Auto MDI/MDIX function eliminates the need of twisted cables.
  • Meets IEEE 802.3, 10/100M full/half-duplex, supports IEEE 802.1 priority system.
  • Throughput up to 2 Gb/s, 64/128 Kbyte SRAM for data, 1000 MAC addresses.
  • Management of a full duplex or half-duplex data current.
  • Set of functions for VLAN, QS management, MIB.
  • Power supply 9 - 32 V.
  • Wide range of operation temperatures -30 up to 70 °C.
  • Casing IP 30.
  • Meets the EMC requirements of EN 50498, article 7.1. a 7.2. and ISO 7637-2:2004.
  • Installation on a DIN fillet in „the lying position“.
